12 “Bridgerton”-inspired fashions and styles to wear for Ramadan 2022

While Bridgerton viewers held their breath to see if Anthony Bridgerton would go through with his marriage to Edwina Sharma in season 2, episode 6, “The Choice,” I was visually inhaling the dresses worn by wedding guests and thinking about how to work one of Bridgerton styles in my own Ramadan 2022 wardrobe. The dazzling dresses of Bridgerton Season 2 served up elegance, embellishment and, above all, modesty, providing a refreshing respite from typical Ramadan attire.

While many women spend their time at home focusing on prayer and spirituality during Ramadan, others keep busy social schedules, much like the Queen’s chosen diamond, with dinner parties and formal engagements. that require a closet with many options. Some retailers are calling this season the “Ramadan Rush” as they see an increase in the number of Muslim shoppers looking for modest new designs for these frequent gatherings.

Too often, brands fall back on traditional Middle Eastern silhouettes when creating styles for Ramadan; think floaty caftans, abaya-inspired capes and roomy co-ords. Although these garments may reflect the traditional aesthetic of Arabic style, they can become monotonous. Tent-shaped bejeweled caftans just aren’t going to suit everyone. This is where the Regency era fashion from Season 2 of Bridgerton Between.

Bridgerton fashion offers elegant and decadent alternatives for Ramadan 2022. The runway’s lavish, long dresses filled with floral patterns and intricate beadwork offer exquisite solutions for women seeking modest fashions, particularly because formal wear and evening wear are retail categories that have historically been difficult to shop and sift.

“Whether it’s a slit, a deep V, a cutout or an open back, there is almost always an element of a mainstream evening dress that makes it inaccessible to the consumer. modest,” says Liza Sakhaie, founder of modest fashion platform The Reflective. “Bridgerton highlights another facet of evening wear. While the dresses may not bare as much skin, it’s their elegance and femininity that draws attention to on-screen suitors and elicits admiration from off-screen viewers.

“Which makes Bridgerton style so iconic is its femininity and romanticism,” adds Sakhaie. “Soft pastels, empire waist dresses, corsets, collars and florals are all making a comeback, and we’re seeing this style start to enter the fashion industry.”

Ramadan fashion often strikes a nice balance between femininity and glamour, just as the show’s main characters flaunt their on-screen attire. In Episode 6, Kate’s minimalist lilac dress was the perfect pastel tone for summer, while Penelope’s lemony dress – a refreshing change from her usually strong shades of yellow – invoked youthful optimism. Even the queen’s crystal and beaded bodice could inspire a one-of-a-kind outfit for Eid, the festive holiday that closes the month of Ramadan. Anyone looking for a suitable marriage of coverage and eye-catching aesthetics while planning outfits for the intimate iftar (an evening meal with which Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast) or chic suhoor (a meal eaten in the morning before fasting) the festivities are bound to have a ball with cuts inspired by these dreamy dresses.
