Bedding players target adjustable bed bases, high-end products, new technologies

HIGH POINT – While the High Point Marketplace bedding scene is lighter with fewer manufacturers and fewer new products, shoppers will always see new products to help drive sales during the holiday shopping season.

In addition to the new products, a new company is entering the market and two other bedding companies are returning after a brief hiatus. GhostBed makes its first appearance at High Point, while Shifman Mattress Co. and Mlily USA return to the event offering more options for bedding buyers.

Adjustable box springs, premium mattresses and new technologies continue to make significant progress in the category. More expensive products have become somewhat of a necessity due to rising component costs, and Paramount Sleep, Shifman Mattress Co., and Eclipse International are each bringing luxury offerings to the market.

Shifman will present the new Inspired collection designed specifically for designer showrooms. The Four-Bed Collection features handcrafted mattresses named after 20th century interior designers: Elsie De Wolfe, Dorothy Draper, Billy Baldwin, and Michael Taylor. The company is back on the market in a showroom located at 108 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive between Main and Wrenn streets.

“We have always been successful at High Point and we look at the design community without harming our current retail base,” said Bill Hammer, president of Shifman. “This bedding line is made for the design community: not directly by designers, but made for design showrooms across the country that cater to independent designers. Not everyone does their shopping in a retail store, and this strategy allows us to capture the luxury consumer who asks their designer to shop for them.

The mattresses feature the company’s double-sided construction and hand-tufted upholstery with the Sanotuft process and natural materials including cotton, natural latex, New Zealand wool and cashmere. The beds in the collection are supported by hand-knotted eight-way box springs. Dressed in Belgian damask enhanced with gold-plated metal corner plates, the mattresses offer a refined and contemporary aesthetic.

Paramount has redesigned its Signature and Classic lines from the HD Super Duty collection to include high density copper and graphite memory foam, a new chunky and refreshing knit panel fabric, and updated the overall look. with reinforced vertical leatherette handles.

The Signature collection now features the line’s three bestsellers, each with a distinct feel. The old pencil coil system of the 1950s beds has been replaced with 1215 steel-sheathed 13.75-gauge pocket springs and a classic houndstooth edging with tape edge.

The four Classic Collection mattresses feature a sturdy 12.75 gauge coil unit covered with foam. The beds in the Classic collection feature a traditional plaid fabric and are accented with faux leather handles. Both redesigned collections are available now, ranging from $ 1,399 to $ 2,999 in Queen.

Eclipse International presents its expanded Ernest Hemingway collection with the Adventure series from Chittenden & Eastman, handcrafted in the USA with Talalay certified Oeko-Tex latex and 100% cotton damask imported from Belgium.

Bedgear’s S Performance mattresses are designed to provide a cooler sleeping experience with mesh sides to provide cross ventilation for air circulation. This collection includes three models: two 10-inch profiles and one 12-inch profile. Quarter-inch diameter holes are drilled vertically from top to bottom throughout the mattress to ensure continuous air circulation and a clean, healthy sleeping environment.

Health and wellness remains a priority in the sleep segment, and Therapedic International is one of many companies focused on ways to improve consumers’ sleep experiences.

Therapedic’s B-Calm line of mattresses starts at $ 999 retail as a queen-size bed and includes an all-foam model and two hybrid models, each featuring Innergetic’s CBD infused graphite latex with a CBD-infused cover. It is available to retailers flat or on a roll, determined by the factory.

Like others, the company is also tackling the antimicrobial aspect of sleep with its Memory Touch Copper Hybrid Collection which features several copper-infused components in each of the three models, ranging from $ 799 to $ 1,299 retail in Queen. Mattresses include a copper infused fabric cover, copper gel memory foam, Quantum coil steel edge support, and an additional support layer of foam. Some models include copper infused latex, Hyper-FLO quilted foam, and a plush BioCrystal.
