“These are two American fashion institutions coming together to create a limited edition collection perfect to embrace the fall and winter season,” Denise Magid, executive vice president and general merchandise manager for rtw, center core, told WWD. dealerships and Bloomingdale’s Outlets. “Pendleton has always been a brand that has inspired us. “With Aqua, Bloomingdale’s manages to keep up with the trends and pick the things to watch, and they’ve done a great job expanding the business into shoes, handbags, kids and other areas,” said a source close to Aqua. “It’s also a good price and has intergenerational appeal. “
The source estimated that Aqua has grown to generate north of $ 50 million in sales per year, although Bloomingdale’s does not confirm this figure.

Aqua started to develop in 2005, when some fashion accessories were introduced, followed by girls, jewelry, handbags and shoes. Swimming and sportswear were added in 2018, and Aqua recently took to pet clothing with knits and prints. “We are constantly looking for new categories,” said Magid. “We explore things like gifts and intimate clothing. “
“Between color and scale variations as well as contemporary silhouettes, the Aqua collection is a striking interpretation of iconic Pendleton patterns,” said Peter Bishop, executive vice president of merchandising and design at Pendleton Woolen Mills. Pendleton is a family business established in 1863 and based in Portland, Ore.
The Aqua x Pendleton collaboration adapts two signature Pendleton models, Pilot Rock and Wyeth Trail, adjusting the scale and introducing new color schemes for the fall season.
