As the fall nesting season returns, home decor retailers present collections that reflect the idea that home is where our hearts and heads are.

Our long period of confinement may have made us restless to the outside world, but it has helped us appreciate our homes better. Even if you haven’t remodeled a basement playroom, remodeled a bathroom, or created a workspace in an apartment closet, you’ve probably rediscovered what you love about your home.

“Our living spaces have moved from sanctuary to command center,” says Elaine Griffin, designer at Sea Island, Ga., “And our relationship with them has changed forever.”

“Our love affair with our homes is at its zenith,” she says.

Months of working from home have seen many people transform their homes into multitasking wonders of purpose, functionality, and personality.

“Of the three, it’s the last one that reigns,” says Griffin.

So how do you give your rooms that personal touch as we snuggle up for fall and winter?

Maine-based designer Erin Flett has a mantra: “Collect things that you love, that are genuine to you, and your home will become your story.” “

Rather than a basic chair, generic carpet or ordinary wall covering, designers favor items with a little ‘soul’, from the cozy nap of a plush fabric to the tool marks of a handcrafted bowl, up to the supreme splendor of an elegant lacquered cabinet.

There is something for everyone. Pieces that give off an artisanal and artisanal atmosphere. Refined pieces that make your heart beat, with exciting prints or daring shapes. Elegant free-form mirrors. Patterns that span centuries of art. Colors that reflect our need for the restorative qualities of nature. And at the other end of the spectrum, colors that spark our imaginations.

The most interesting new interior design doesn’t look like a factory assembly line, but a studio. A workshop. A small production house.

Some examples of what to expect for the fall:

COLOR

Look for saturated hues – cobalt, cinnamon, charcoal, ruby, green, and mustard among them. It is the depth of these colors that is new, and also the way they are used. They envelop entire rooms, from walls to moldings to fireplace mantels and even the ceiling. The kitchen too.

“In North America, red is our bestseller in warm colors,” says Valentina Bertazzoni, head of style and design at Italian manufacturer of high-end kitchen appliances Bertazzoni.

“By incorporating colors like red, the kitchen space can be livelier and more inviting. And more and more homeowners are understanding the idea that a colorful range can serve as an anchor or protagonist for a design concept.

You’ll see red in small pieces, like the playful Bellhop lamp by Barber Osgerby, but also in larger pieces of furniture like the Turner sofa by Arteriors. For the backyard, Brown Jordan’s outdoor kitchen cabinets are available in a hot pepper shade, as well as cool mint, Tardis blue, and cotton candy pink tones.

Charcoal and black have gone from gothic hues for teenagers to must-have colors for chic and dramatic pieces. Even nurseries get these ink hues, which help make furniture, artwork, and other colors stand out. In children’s bedrooms they talk about the gender neutrality that many modern families seek.

Another style direction, “Japandi”, mixes the organic and understated modernism of Scandinavian and Japanese aesthetics. The hues are mossy, hazy, smoky and soothing. Amy Donato of PPG Paints says, “We are seeing a strong interest in Japandi inspired colors. In fact, our bestsellers are the ones that align with the serene, neutral essence of the trend.

MODEL

“I love that maximalism takes over while minimalism disappears,” says New York designer Courtney Sempliner. “The play of patterns I see with the upholstery, the layering of patterns at different scales and the bold use of color is exciting and much more interesting.”

It also allows more of the owner’s personality to come through.

Regional and global tribal models continue to gain attention; textiles for living and sleeping spaces feature these eye-catching and often story-driven designs.

“The Navajo are among the best carpet makers in the world, with loom work and design on par with the best Persian rugs,” said Leanne Potts, Atlanta-based editor, contributor to HGTV, Gardenista and other points of sale. “These southwestern masterpieces feature patterns and colors that complement many decor styles.”

Joanna Mahserdjian, founder of Upstate Rug Supply in Hudson, New York, agrees.

“Hang one on the wall as art, place one on the floor in a mid-century modern home, or layer them with Persian rugs, like Ralph Lauren does,” she suggests. “They work just as well for anchoring a pair of modern Danish chairs as they do in a desk under a rich camel-leather Chesterfield sofa.”

You’ll also find Native American and African tribal designs on the upholstered pieces: Anthropologie’s Ulla chair has a mud-inspired print. Sundance’s kilim-covered mango wood sofa marries hand-woven with bespoke, and there are also vibrant woven baskets here, made by a collective of Ghanaian women.

Albany Park founder Darryl Sharpton took inspiration from his Nigerian heritage to create his Ekaabo seating collection. The name means ‘welcome home’ and the blue, orange and burgundy graphics of the velvet upholstery echo the West African design.

Flowers remain anchored in the category of favorite designs. But instead of the traditional tidy, these flowers are rebellious. Graham & Brown’s Azure Paper puts a tumble of blown flowers on a matte black background, for example.

Collaborating with graphic artist Marcello Vielho, Anthropologie’s fall furniture collection includes the small Bloom side chair with a botanical graphic rendered in bold hues of lemon, grape, cherry and basil.

There are some fun retro wallpapers too, like Hovia’s Memphis era summaries and Graham & Brown’s large-scale, midmod, ’70s and 80s summaries. Look for trompe l’oeil designs like origami, crocodile, faux wood, and crystal or mineral designs. With one of these artistic and impactful papers on your wall, you don’t need fancy furniture to make a statement.

TEXTURE

You’ve probably noticed it in the aisles of big box superstores and neighborhood decor stores: rattan and jute have moved from the porch and storage closet to almost every room in the house.

Dressers, side tables, headboards, lighting, seating and even kitchen / bathroom cabinet fronts feature the tight weaves of these materials.

Anthropologie has a rattan and brass chandelier, or check out Pottery Barn’s Sausalito bedroom collection, with driftwood-inspired finishes and bird’s eye canes. Crate & Barrel channeled the 1930s with the Anaise Curved Edge Bedroom Set, the Griere Cane and Wood Bench and the West Circular Bar Cabinet, the latter in collaboration with designer Leanne Ford.

Textures and geometric shapes also appeal to designers looking to create a modernist vibe, but with a geological look that appeals to nature lovers as well. The new bar cart from RH designed by Robert Forwood is covered with pieces of grainy faceted oak. West Elm offers brutalist print cushions and marble and octahedron wood artwork.

STYLE

Instagram feeds from design and shelter magazines are increasingly popular for posts featuring floating vanities; mixed color kitchen cabinets; curved and soft seat; brutalist art objects; and matte black window frames, cabinet knobs and faucets.

In the furniture there are large framed wood pieces, like the Westbrook Parson style side table by Pottery Barn with a cement top, or the Jack table, with a marble top perched on an architectural wooden base. bleached. But there are equally interesting pieces with sultry, rounded corners, like the Runwell dresser and side table in Shinola’s fall collaboration with Crate & Barrel; the buttered drawers covered with aniline leather nestle in a cocoon with soft edges in walnut-veneered mahogany.

Wood and wood-look floors add another warm dimension to eclectic rooms and soften the austerity of minimalist rooms. Beyond real wood, there are stunning laminates and beautiful, sturdy porcelain tiles whose lifelike appearance illustrates how far digital printing technology has come.

Italian manufacturer La Fabbrica’s Il Cerreto tile collection reflects the rich grain and hues of wooden wine barrels. The Cerdomus Opera collection was inspired by the woods of historic Italian theaters. And Rondine’s Timeless tile looks like textured parquet.

Besides floors, these coating materials can also be applied to walls.

The elegance of Art Deco is another darling decor now. Discover the Sven d’Article loveseat in emerald green velvet, with upholstered seats and rolled armrests. Interior Define’s Madeline slipper chair would be a chic little accent, in platinum, blush or lavender performance velvet.

The Joyce porcelain tiles by Ceramica Colli di Sassuolo with semi-circles and angular Art Deco-inspired shapes combine modernity with this era of elegance. The Tile Shop’s Corbusier mosaic is a testament to this architect’s aesthetic in gold, black and white, while his Modern Deco tile adorns a chain-link marble mosaic with elegant gold.

With so many options in so many styles, how can a decorator choose and combine them?

“I like all styles, so I get it,” says designer and HGTV host Emily Henderson. “At some point you look at what works for the architecture of your home, for your family, for your lifestyle. If you have a personal connection to style, that helps.

“I also think you can really mix all styles together as long as you have a consistent color palette.”

Griffin says this fall is “when design as we know it leaves the house of rules. While it doesn’t seem quite right to someone else, if you like it, it’s perfect for. you and has a place in your home. That’s what style means now. The era of truly individualized interiors is upon us. “

The other day I read a tweet where someone asked if positive people do better than others, or if being positive leads to more success. It’s an interesting question, not because it has an answer, but because it contains a common assumption: that success and positivity are necessarily correlated. Amid all the happy face emojis and exclamation marks punctuating mundane phrases with fake familiarity, how often do people ask if all this positivity is, well, positive?

I define hyper-positivity as the abuse of emojis, exclamation marks and adjectives like “excited”, adverbs like “extremely” or business clichés like “reaching” in a way. which creates a spurious tone of writing. It also refers to people who use patterns of emotional speech and presentation of ideas to the point that they become tiring to interact with.

In general, hyper-positivity in relation to the workplace can devalue values and reasoned positive actions. Everything becomes optimistic—happy happy happy– and it can generate suspicion or mistrust in those who don’t really see the world that way or who bring a strongly analytical perspective to what they do. Part of the reason some people react negatively to this hyper-positivity is that they feel familiarity and trust must be earned – they are not the product of positive words or attitudes, but of time spent in work together and the recognition of shared values and common ideas.

In the United States, at least, this problem is escalated because Americans have a way of confusing positivity with politeness or professionalism. But there is a difference and the two do not necessarily need to cross. I bring a skeptical mindset to almost everything I do, and consider polite skepticism a fundamental component of professionalism. I trust work environments and peers with whom I can have open disagreement accompanied by careful thought. Too much emphasis on positivity makes me wonder how well I hear other people’s real thoughts, which in turn causes me to trust their comments and analysis less.

Hyper-positivity can also create cross-cultural issues when working with individuals from other societies, like Japan, where this type of self-representation is not the norm but is considered rather odd. For Japanese, being polite is much more important than expressing feelings of togetherness, and being polite means respecting the status of others and maintaining a level of decorum as a relationship develops and trust is earned over time. Cheerful smiles and exclamatory comments don’t necessarily breed confidence.

Some of the pitfalls of hyper-positivity could be solved if we rowed a sense of professional decorum – emphasizing modest, measured reactions to others – and recognizing that we don’t need to be on one side. base “bestie” with all the people we meet. I often receive emails from outside companies soliciting my company for things like educational software or documentary videos. They usually start with something like “Hey John! Despite the fact that I never met the sender. I would call these emails examples of toxic positivity, because they generate the opposite response to that desired by the sender. These solicitations go directly to spam most of the time. I don’t even read them. Why? Because the sender failed to recognize that friends, coworkers, and complete strangers are different and, therefore, require different styles of interaction to build trust.

Much has been written about the pressures young professional women feel, in particular, to present themselves both by email and in person as warm or friendly, which is basically another non-aggressive way of saying. This leads to excessive use of things like exclamation marks and apology statements to ensure male readers interpret the tone of women’s emails as benign and upbeat. Of course, the problem of hyper-positivity isn’t just one of too many exclamation marks or emojis. Hyper-positivity is often the product of unfair expectations of people in the workplace – and especially of women – in which professionalism is equated with friendliness and people face professional repercussions if they do not respect the expected social rules, generally linked to gender.

Hyper-positivity has a way of undermining the feeling that others are reacting objectively and cautiously to complex situations and to those with whom they interact. It can also be interpreted as being dishonest and, therefore, can erode trust between coworkers or prevent the development of good working relationships with others who are trying to get their attention or their business. But it is the gendered nature of hyper-positivity that is most pernicious, as the expectation that women “soften” their tone by being overly friendly reinforces and reproduces the structures of male dominance that continue to characterize the place of worship. work and society more broadly. And that’s why bringing back a sense of decorum is so important: hyper-positivity is a product of systemic or structural sexism. To solve this problem, we must recognize the consequences that women face if they are not professional.

Cutting back on emojis, doing less “reaching out” and not being excited about mundane things would all help create more equitable work environments based on feelings of mutual trust rather than false familiarity.

Easy, relaxed and a feeling of freedom. Resortwear has always had a zen appeal combined with the desire to travel. The pandemic, while holding our freedom hostage for the most part, has also sparked escapades to the beautiful Maldives or perennial favorite, Goa. Fashion designer Rimi Nayak, known for her relaxed styles, worked hard, trying to meet multiple travel deadlines. She shot part of her latest line of resort clothing “Escape in Paradise”, in the Maldives. Rimi discusses the models and classics of resortwear shopping with us.

What do you think is the spirit of resortwear?

The resort wear concept, which began as a pre-WWII capsule collection in Europe for the privileged jet set who took winter vacations to escape the cold, has now become a major part of the ecosystem of the fashion. Resortwear collections allow you to escape in style, whether you choose to travel or not, adding a feeling of ease and joy to your wardrobe.

With the Maldives and Goa becoming popular getaways over the past year or so, there must have been a push into the resortwear space. What kinds of models do you see emerging? What are people packing?

Since the pandemic, if there is one common thing that everyone missed the most, it was travel. And so with the travel restrictions relaxed and a few places allowed for tourists, people really wanted to travel and take a break from the current situation. Goa and the Maldives are hot spots for everyone and therefore there has been an increase in demand for resort wear.

We had clients from all over the country, including celebrities, who wanted our range of resort wear for their travels.

Most people were looking for kaftans, dresses and coordinating sets in bright tropical prints for their travels. Even overlays were in high demand as customers mostly wanted them over their swimsuits.

The photos of the Maldives are absolutely beautiful. Tell us about the footprints we see.

The collection consists of different types of separate pieces, dresses and kaftans in crepe, satin and organza fabrics. This is a fluid, wearable and elegant collection with abstract and organic prints of flora and fauna in bright, cheerful colors.

What are the classics of resortwear?

Caftans, kimonos, babydolls and easy layering are resortwear classics.

How do people experience?

Today, I have the impression that clients are extremely knowledgeable about current trends and that they are open to trying new silhouettes according to fashion trends but they prefer to style their clothes in their own way, according to their own. personality. Separate pieces are therefore essential and customers experiment with their looks by mixing and matching various separate pieces from their wardrobe to create their own unique look.

Given the situation we find ourselves in, we would like to get carried away as little as possible. Some of your figures can be styled in several ways. Give us some examples of multifunctional outfits and ways to style them.

We specialize in making separate pieces that can be styled in different ways, coordinating them with various outfits. Like our ensemble pant sets, the top and overlay can be worn separately with other outfits. Our popular style, organza print kaftan overlay, can be worn as a kaftan dress with inner briefs or a swimsuit and can also be worn with pants and a top to give a more formal look. Most of our outfits can be dressed up or dressed up with the choice of coordinating pieces and accessories.

What do you think are the must-haves?

A well-fitting swimsuit, multifunctional overlay, dress, and kaftan are must-haves if you are planning a resort vacation.

What are the right resort accessories?

The look of the outfit can completely change with the accessories you style it with. Trendy necklaces, hoops or long tasseled earrings, sunglasses, comfy flip flops and a large hat are some of the staple accessories for resort wear.

Give us great looks from beach to bar …

When you want to go to the bar straight from the beach, you can wear a few silhouette options that you can slip on over your swimwear and head straight to the bar after a good time on the beach. Kaftans, slip dresses, shirt dresses, skirts and layered jackets are the perfect options to elevate your beach to bar look.

Tell us about your personal favorites … what would you take with you?

My favorite is the caftan. Personally, I love anti-fit clothing and I love the comfortable fit of the kaftans. So it’s like my resort basic with long maxi dresses and also sheer overlays to pair with swimsuits.

Your favorite resort getaways would be?

I am more of the sea and the beach person. I can never tire of the vast vast sea meeting the sky on a distant horizon. The majority of my trips have therefore taken place in seaside resorts around the world. For a quick getaway, Krabi is my favorite. Also, although I have been to a few beaches in Italy, but it’s on my wish list is to visit all the seaside towns in Italy someday.

Fall may still be a few weeks away, but we already can’t wait to start wearing all of our favorite seasonal basics like ankle boots, sweaters and jackets.

That being said, given the current weather, your fall coats may be too warm for the sunny days at the start of the season. This is where a shirt comes in handy.

The jacket, as the name suggests, is a cross between a shirt and a jacket. The combo piece isn’t new, but recently searches for the style have increased on both Lyst and Google. And according to fashion expert Melissa Chataigne, it’s a great option to accompany you in the coming season.

“It’s a piece that I love, which is a bit more textured and you often see in throws,” said Chataigne. Made from a thicker fabric than your typical plaid shirt, the style is the perfect choice to help you go from summer to fall. “It’s a layering piece that’s a great staple for your wardrobe, especially as the temperatures get colder.”

It’s also not something you have to think about styling a lot, which is a major bonus. It’s a simple way to improve your work compared to home and a piece you can put on to run errands or pick the kids up from school, Chataigne said. “It’s easy, low maintenance, assembled, but without trying too hard.” She added that it can be paired with things like jeans, a dress, or joggers.

“Wear it to the grocery store or to have a cocktail with friends on a patio,” said fashion stylist Cindy Conroy. “You can wear it for a hike, even. When you’re hot, you can wrap it around your waist, and then all of a sudden you’re very fancy on the hiking trail.”

We asked stylists to share their favorite options. Here, the 10 best shirts to add to your basket just in time for fall.

Zara oversized overshirt

Whether you wear it buttoned up or open over a t-shirt and jeans, there are so many ways to wear this choice of Chestnut. Best of all, it’s made from durable materials and is machine washable for easy cleaning.

Forever 21 brushed check pocket jacket

This “resistant and affordable” option selected by Chataigne will be your new choice for the cool autumn days. Redeem code ALWAYS FRIENDS21 to get 25% off.

BP. Oversized brushed check shirt jacket

Conroy described the shacks as “lumberjack chic,” and this choice is the perfect example. It’s an upscale take on the classic plaid shirt, with big buttons and you can pair it with almost anything in your wardrobe for a cool, laid back vibe.

Nasty Gal Fringed Plaid Shirt Jacket in Wool

Fringe details add to the fall feel of this jacket. The pink and blue color that Chestnut loves is almost out of stock, but you can find similar styles in brown and black.

Missguided Sage Solid Brushed Boxy Shack

If you’re petite, Chataigne recommends that you look for a jacket that hits the middle of your thigh or the smallest part of your hips. Try this option, which comes in three colors: ecru, sage and pink.

Short quilted jacket Missguided Petite ecru

She also likes this pouch for small frames. It’s part of Missguided’s petite line, so it’s made for those five feet three inches and under. It has large front pockets, which will allow you to store all your essentials and the quilted pattern adds a unique element to the trendy piece.

Anthropologie Puff Sleeve Sweater Coat

Available in standard, petite and plus sizes, this sweater-coat combo, selected by Conroy, is designed to flatter a range of frames. The puffed sleeves bring an element of fun to the trendy piece.

New York Blank Mourning Routine Shirt

This jacket is super comfortable for fall activities (like apple picking), Chataigne said. Complete the perfect look for the season with a pair of jeans and ankle boots.

Gap checked shirt jacket

Conroy also likes this option from Gap. The longer style is perfect for colder days when you need a little more coverage.

Wilfred Free The Ganna Shirt Jacket

For a designer take on the trend, try Conroy d’Aritzia’s pick. It’s available in 28 colors and patterns, including blue, pink, and a mint check pattern.

Artspace111 presents Swallow the Frog, the first solo exhibition of works by Jules Buck Jones in Fort Worth. In Swallow the Frog, Jones presents a wide range of drawings and paintings developing the artist’s interests and concerns with the natural world. The exhibition will feature monumental works on paper like Serpent of Summer, where Jones uses his heavily stylized use of watercolor, ink and pastel to create a scene twisting in movement and light.

Other works in the exhibition move away from the strong and the expression, such as in “Eye In The Sky”, a softer and quieter graphite drawing of ancient and modern amphibians alongside the moon, which works as a study of textures while highlighting leaps in biological evolution. More so, he will show several large wood panels like “It’s Hard To Forget What You Don’t Know” and “Swallow The Frog” where Jones leans on the hard edge of his panel to be the descriptive motor of the work, allowing his use of paints and pastels to embrace a more suggestive role. In this exhibition, Jones reveals a multifaceted relationship to drawing, a relationship where deliberate descriptive modes inhabit the same space as the bold and the expressive. The range of styles reflects the artist’s goal of creating a piece that is both festive and sad, straddling fact and fiction, and explores hope, excitement and despair.

“My work is a direct reflection of my relationship and my reflections on nature. Paintings and drawings are concocted from a mixture of direct experience, research and imagination. My work depicts abstract flora and fauna, anthropomorphized landscapes and confused geological timelines featuring synchronicities in nature and twisted narratives of natural history. I strive to create a work that celebrates the wonders of the natural world, while addressing the imbalance and degradation of the natural treasures of this planet. The work relies heavily on drawing, dense patterns, layering, making expressive marks and collage. Although works on paper are my primary vehicle, I produce works of art in many forms including sculpture, video, performance, and installation. – Jules Buck Jones

“Jules Buck Jones creates exuberant, daring, playful and accessible work. It tackles current environmental issues through familiar and beautiful wildlife images. We believe his exhibit is the perfect immersive experience for our return to a normal fall gallery night celebration and we look forward to introducing Jules Buck Jones to Fort Worth art collectors.

This new collaborative series between Artspace111 and the Texas Sculpture Group aims to bring new works from the Texas Sculpture Group to Fort Worth every gallery night.

In the Grand Gallery, Artspace111 presents a group exhibition featuring new works by artists represented by Artspace111. In addition to the artwork on display, Artspace111 will feature music on the patio and food available for purchase from a local food truck in the evening.

Whether you’re looking to organize a few dainty necklaces or a larger collection of on-trend jewelry, the best way to store necklaces keeps them tangle-free and protected, yet easy to sift through on busy mornings. There are many necklace solutions for every chain, and I’ve curated a collection for you here.

To store beautiful jewelry, look for covered storage lined with felt or velvet to prevent scratches. Silver tarnishes when exposed to air and retains its polish longer when coated. Also note: sunlight can discolor some stones. Consider closed storage so that gemstones like amethyst, sapphires, rubies, and opals continue to shine. Conversely, a pearl necklace should never be kept in an airtight container because the natural gem needs a little humidity to keep its shine; opt for a soft pouch or travel roll instead.

For those a little less picky jewelry, below are also some practical storage ideas that make your everyday collection a snap. Consider setting up your favorites like a boutique with a tiered jewelry display or getting a nice dish if you tend to wear the same pieces every day. Home decor fanatics might love to use a neoclassical bust to flaunt trendy necklaces – it’s unexpected and a bit rebellious, with surprising appeal in a range of styles.

Below you’ll find everything from travel jewelry storage that frequent travelers swear by a jewelry box with a near-perfect Amazon rating that’s affordable enough that you want to buy two. These eight creative necklace storage ideas can hold any type of collection.

1

The Storage Style Celebrity Organizers Love

Organizing gurus Clea and Joanna from The Home Edit told The Zoe Report that they love stackable velvet trays for jewelry. They can be slipped into a drawer or stacked in a jewelry box on counters so you can use them in a way that suits you. This stackable jewelry storage tray set includes adjustable dividers so you can further customize your storage. Even the base is fully covered to keep your furniture as protected as your jewelry. “I use this product to store my earrings, necklaces and other jewelry in my dresser drawer,” said one fan. “They are beautiful, sturdy and practical … perfect for storing your everyday jewelry around the house.”

2

A minimalist jewelry display to display your favorites

Lightweight and luxurious, Umbra’s Trigem Gold Jewelry Display showcases your necklaces like a West Elm advertisement. Three glittering levels can tame even the longest pendant necklaces, and its powder coated metal works as a jewelry dish to catch rings and bracelets at the end of the day. (A soft liner underneath ensures that it won’t scratch wood furniture.) “It looks very stylish … works well as a decor piece,” commented one buyer, noting that the open storage was also surprisingly practical. “It’s so much easier and faster to see what I have.” For even more organization, consider this acrylic necklace holder from STORi with 24 dedicated hooks.

3

A mirrored jewelry cabinet that hides in plain sight

This lockable mirrored jewelry organizer creates an all-in-one solution that simplifies preparation and blends discreetly into the decor while keeping valuables safe. Twenty-four hooks inside provide plenty of tangle-free storage for necklaces, and you can easily add more to some of the earring space. If you take it as it comes, you can store up to 60 rings and over 80 pairs of earrings plus everything you can put on two built-in shelves. It locks securely and no assembly is required, you just need to mount it via the two included anchor screws. “Robust and NOT cheap. The price is amazing for what you get, ”said one buyer. “The setup was super easy and there is so much space. My necklaces don’t get tangled. There is room for every ring in my collection.

4

A small dish to catch the pieces you wear every day

If you tend to stick to a few classic pieces every day, keep them on your countertop in a small, stylish platter or tray. They will be waiting for you every morning and it’s a good landing point for the must-haves at the end of the day so you never have to search for your essentials. This ceramic jewelry dish looks incredibly luxurious in white and gold marble patterns with a nice raised edge to keep all contents – and this price is a serious steal. “I love the marble look and it fits my bedside table perfectly. It’s not too small and looks pretty solid, ”one buyer remarked. It would also be ideal for holding keys on entryway tables or wedding rings next to the kitchen sink.

5

This hanging necklace organizer with an accessory shelf

This hanging necklace organizer uses vertical space with 30 hooks that can tame even the most oversized necklace collections, while the small shelf above is just the right size for things like sunglasses. It is crafted from sturdy New Zealand pine and is painted in multiple finishes with strong metal hooks twisted in place. A set of wall anchors and screws are included for a solid mount, but if you don’t want to break power tools, 3M tapes are included as a damage-free alternative. “I love this stuff and I’m so glad there are so many hooks … Love that the hooks on the back are lower for longer necklaces and jewelry,” noted one reviewer. “The small shelf is also handy for bottles, accessories and knickknacks, so it’s fun to decorate it however you like. “

6

A statement necklace storage hack that doubles as a chic decor

If your trendy necklaces overthrow minimalist stands but still want to put them on a pedestal, a classic faux bust is sturdy enough to hold trendy necklaces and adds ironic pop art culture to your decor. Roman goddess Diana brings in with her subtle queen energy, measuring a foot tall and weighing over 2 pounds for a more than sturdy base to display chunky necklaces, and one buyer reported that it works fantastically for this purpose. What really earned high marks, however, was the decorative touch. “Doesn’t sound too over the top but really enhances the aesthetic of my home,” summed up one astute fan. For a more subtle bust option, consider this highly rated linen and wood jewelry necklace display.

7

A travel roll that keeps delicate chains tidy

This jewelry roll is dedicated for storing travel necklaces with 16 tabs to keep your favorites from getting tangled. There’s a velor base and silky microfiber flip-up dust cover so even your most delicate jewelry won’t get scratched in transit – and it rolls up into a small indentation that easily attaches with a few Velcro tabs . You’ll find that most of the reviews are for the black jewelry roll, but the blush will be easier to spot deep in your bag. “I love this jewelry box. I travel monthly and constantly try to untangle my chains and necklaces, NO MORE, ”explained a frequent traveler. “Well done, rolls up so it doesn’t take up a lot of space in my bag. No way you don’t like it. The brand also makes larger jewelry travel rolls that can accommodate all types of accessories, which are included in the same listing.

8

This jewelry box with an almost perfect Amazon note

This eye-catching jewelry box combines organized velvet trays with covered storage in a chic, modern format that’s a steal considering how much real estate you get. The airy acrylic features velvet drawer inserts with adjustable dividers so you can create your own personalized storage, and the velvet comes in soft decor hues with an almost perfect Tiffany Blue. (Although the inserts are not removable, the drawers themselves can be inverted at will.) It has a 4.7 star rating with over 2,500 reviews from fans who have been delighted with the aesthetics and the look. really impressive storage space.

You might also consider this modern jewelry box that will look so nice on your dresser, and two of its larger drawers can accommodate additional necklaces.

Interior design fans will know that while trends come and go, tiles remain a leading versatile decor item that can bring any space in the home to life, especially if you go beyond the perfect place for tiles on a bathroom floor. And while we love tried and true subway tiles, with so many unique color combinations and patterns to choose from, there is nothing like a vibrant tile design to showcase your personality in a space.

Whether you’re looking to spruce up a kitchen backsplash or add style to your entryway, we’ve got you covered. We contacted tile experts from Tucson, Arizona, up to Markham, ON, for unique tile ideas that you can incorporate into your interior. Here’s how to mix things up and create a unique look in your home.

Tile Ideas You Can Use In Your Kitchen

1) Blessed with a cooking island? Decorate it with the same mosaic tiles you used on your kitchen wall. Give your kitchen a “wow” factor by using the same mosaics on your cooking island as those used on your kitchen wall. We suggest Kit Kat mosaics as these small tiles will be easy to process. Make sure to place them vertically if your island has rounded edges. –The mosaic factory

2) Create a stark contrast in your kitchen with a backsplash laid with hand-painted glossy geometric patterned ceramic tiles on a mirror polished black granite tile countertop. The reflection of the tiles on the granite will bring great life to your cooking space. –Blue mosaics

3) Don’t be afraid to be bold in your kitchen by using tiles as art on a large scale. Tiles that create a pattern or scene on your backsplash add a surprising element that is both delicious and unexpected. Also, if you are working with high ceilings, be sure to continue the tile all the way below the ceiling. –Design Ann Gottlieb

4) Use decorative tiles on walls, counters and built-in cabinets. Mix and match various designs and colors, including contrasting grout options. Raised tiles give an extra visual “punch”, even though the colors are similar and subtly different. –New York Tilesetters

5) Give your basic subway tile a unique touch by installing it in a vertical stack as opposed to the traditional offset pattern. This tile stacking pattern creates an illusion of height in any space and adds a modern touch to a classic tile. –Elkins + Co Interiors

6) Tiling the face of your island makes it a unique and eye-catching feature. A simple but often overlooked space in the kitchen is the island. Add a pattern or a touch of color to your island and make your kitchen like no other. –Coast Tile and Marble Supply

Incorporate These Tile Ideas Into The Living Spaces Of Your Home

7) Use reflective tiles to open up a small space. Shiny or reflective tiles – think glazed ceramic or polished glass – amplify natural light in a room, even making a cozy downstairs powder room larger and more airy. Use mirror tiles under your cabinets to create a reflective backsplash and open up a small kitchen, or glass subway tiles in a narrow shower to bring in light and make it more spacious. –Tile club

8) Transform the standard subway layout into a herringbone pattern or go for a vertical or stacked layout for a more modern feel. Think outside the box when it comes to your tile layout to create a unique and fun look. These tile ideas are easy ways to create your own pattern without paying the price of more intricate patterned tiles. –Willaby Road

9) Use leftover slabs to create custom tiles that showcase the natural patterns of the stone. Infuse the natural swirling patterns of the stone into your tiling project with the help of your local stone manufacturer. Just get some leftover stone from larger slab projects and cut those leftovers so that your tiles match the prominent stone veins in your mural. Sustainable, profitable and truly unique. –Adamo stone design

10) Use decorative ceiling tiles to create a beautiful ceiling. With decorative ceiling tiles, you have the freedom to choose your preference from many designs, patterns and colors. Faux copper, faux silver, antique faux copper, antique faux silver, and weathered faux copper will create a stunning ceiling. Glue them together with overlapping edges or install them in a grid suspended ceiling by inserting the tiles under the existing acoustic tiles in the ceiling. –Ceiling Tiles By Us

11) Large format tiles give the illusion of a more spacious room. In addition, the simultaneous use of natural and non-slip finishes of the same tile creates continuity between interior and exterior spaces. Including the pool and garden with custom coping, stair treads, wall caps and more made from pavers of the same graphic can instantly transform even a small space into a well-coordinated oasis. Look for product lines that have interior and exterior finishes as well as pavers and copings that can be customized to meet your design needs. –Pera tiles

12) Use tiles to add a pop of color and pattern to your risers. There are several ways to make your statement with your risers. Tiles can last more than a lifetime and can be a way to mark your heritage. We can create custom coordinated color stories that include trims to finish the edges cleanly, or if you are on a budget you can choose from our collection in stock and mix and match to suit your needs. –Ceramic concepts

13) Create a serene spa-like shower in your home using porcelain wood for the walls. Not only is it affordable, but this look also creates a maintenance free shower thanks to the porcelain wood that can be cleaned with any product on the market. Pair it with a marble mosaic for the floor and inside your doghouse, and your look is complete. –Home LMP

14) If you don’t know where to start to make your rooms look organic and natural, let floors and walls be your starting point for setting the background. Choose a wood-look porcelain tile that appeals to you the most, your style and your decor, and start embracing the natural beauty of your home. A design mixing calming hues of blue and shades of white and beige tile, whether it is a combination of patterns and solids or completely solids, can open up the space and enhance a calm and relaxing home with a look. breathtaking contemporary. –Tile merchant

Enjoy the outdoor life with these tile ideas

15) Use leftover tile to create a functional mosaic for your home or patio. Gently break off any leftover tile from the back with a light hammer blow. Then organize a design for a side table, a plant stand, or even an accent for a cement wall. From there, glue the leftovers with thinset, then grout the mosaic once the thinset is dry. Your creative pieces will add a subtle harmony to your interior decoration. –Mosaics by Andrea Edmundson

16) Create a feeling of ultimate luxury with an outdoor shower. Outdoor showers are a great addition to the outdoor lifestyle. In fact, it encourages him even more. For a few brief moments, it transports you to a place more exotic than your own backyard. –Clay imports

17) Install colorful water safety surface tiles on your pool deck to add slip resistance and padding coupled with the ability to create bold patterns and designs. Create color gradients from geometric shapes for a unique and visually interesting look. Also consider using this design approach for safer, more vibrant bathroom surfaces. –Living floor

tile ideas for your bathroom

Ready to make a statement? Use tiles as accents

18) Tile your ceiling to make a statement. With different shapes, sizes, textures, colors, and color blends, you can create a focal point that no one expects. -ARTO

19) If you want to incorporate mosaic tile into your space but don’t want it to be overwhelming or expensive, get creative with accents and borders. It’s a perfect way to add a pop of color and texture to places like bathroom walls, shower niches, and swimming pools. Mosaic borders can be anywhere from 2 to 24 inches wide. –MEC artwork

20) There are two words you need to know if you are looking to enhance a room in your home: accent wall. Whether it’s glazed picket tiles or colorful terrazzo, decorating a single wall with a beautiful, handmade tile is the perfect way to liven up and enrich a space. –Eso surfaces

22) Be your own designer. Think outside the box and beyond the standard pre-fabricated designs and layouts, and consider creating a custom design that sets the tone for the entire space. If you have a favorite photo, textile or pattern in mind, Artaic can help you create something that looks like you by turning any image into a very personal and personalized tile mosaic. –Artic
