Philippine ‘beauty pioneer’ Fanny Serrano dies, fashion designers pay tribute to her
MANILA, Philippines — Famous makeup artist Fanny Serrano has died. He was 72 years old.
On his Facebook account, fashion designer Dave Ocampo paid tribute to the Filipino fashion icon.
“GOODBYE TITA FANNY SERRANO THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORDS AND THE WORDS OF THE LORD JESUS THAT YOU SHARE WITH US. YOU WILL BE MISSED BY YOUR FAMILY DESIGNERS CIRCLE PHILIPPINES!! LOVE YOU TF YOU ARE A FRIEND, A MENTOR, A BROTHER TO ME. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!” Dave wrote.
Swimsuit designer Domz Ramos also took to his social media account to offer his condolences to Fanny’s family.
“Love you Tita Fanny REST IN PEACE. Thank you for trusting me to be your stylist when I first started out in the industry. YOU WILL BE IN MY HEART FOREVER!!!!” he wrote.
We can recall that Fanny had a “massive blow” in March 2021, according to “Megastar” singer-actress Sharon Cuneta.
“Hi guys, it’s me again, I still don’t feel great, but it’s supposedly a private thing, but I can’t, there’s no getting around it. I would like really ask for your prayers because Tita Fanny Serrano had a massive stroke today,” Sharon said at the time.
Dubbed the country’s “beauty trailblazer”, Fanny is behind the looks of the country’s biggest stars, including Sharon, Cherie Gil, Lorna Tolentino and Celia Rodriguez. He is also a salon owner, fashion designer and actor who has appeared in movies and TV series such as “Maalaala Mo Kaya”.
